SEO Expert Witness Services

For Plaintiffs (and Plaintiffs' Attorneys):

  • Are you taking  or considering taking  legal action (i.e., filing a lawsuit) against a search engine optimization (SEO) company or individual for fraud; negligence; incompetence; poor performance; non-performance; misrepresentation; failure to fulfill promises, guarantees, or other contractual obligations; or other SEO-related inefficiencies?

  • Would an SEO expert witness be helpful  or perhaps even necessary for proving your case?

If you (or  if you're an attorney  your client) have/has been ripped off by a party that's not performed the SEO promised and paid for, and refuses to refund monies remitted, we can provide an SEO expert witness who can testify to – and prove – the effectiveness of any site's SEO.

Please Note: We only provide SEO expert witness services for situations in which we've examined the relevant evidence and determined that the accused party is at fault.

As you might be aware, SEO professionals – as is also the case with web designers and web developers – require no testing or licensing, and have no industry-specific regulatory agencies or authorities with which they must comply, or with which claims against them can be filed. They can be reported to broader-scoping entities such as the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the office of your state's Attorney General (AG) ... however, as you might also be aware, the BBB does not take punitive actions, and because both the FTC and your AG's office are understaffed  and overloaded with complaints – neither is likely to take any meaningful action re your complaint.

At SEOzone, we firmly believe that difficult testing and licensing should be required in order to practice SEO, web design, or web development. And there should be tough regulating of all three disciplines. As you might notice, simple Bing, Google, Yahoo, craigslist, Fiverr, Thumbtack, Upwork, and Yelp searches (as well as countless others) bring up bazillions of self-proclaimed experts in all three of these fields, with so-called SEO professionals and web designers being the most plentiful – and worst – offenders (which is not to suggest that unqualified web developers aren't abundant as well).

To recover unearned or falsely-gained monies from an SEO company or individual:

  • They can be asked – in writing, not just orally – for a specific refund amount, clearly citing the reason(s), and requesting a reply within a specified period or by a specific date (any such period or date must be reasonable, rational, fair, and appropriate).

  • If they refuse, or don't reply, they can be sent a demand letter (informally aka "lawyer letter") demanding the refund, citing the reason(s), and indicating that failure on their part to attempt resolving the issue within a specified period or by a specific date will result in legal action being initiated against them.

Proving poor SEO requires knowledge and expertise that very few so-called "SEO professionals" possess, or are even aware of.
